JAMMU, Oct 18: Indian Cultural Forum, in its continuous endeavor to uplift Music, Literature, Art, Theater and Heritage, organized the literary programme ‘Majlis-4’ under Heritage Series at village Raipur Bantalab. The programme was organized in memory of theatre and television artist Late Raj Singh Jamwal.
In the programme Usha Kiran ‘Kiran’, Chanchal Bhasin, Vijaya Thakur, Lalit Magotra, Tara Kalandari, Gyaneshwar and Randhir Raipuria presented their poetry in Dogri. Pyasa Anjum, K K Shakir, Suraj Rattan and Deepak Aarsi read their poetry in Urdu language.
In a musical programme that followed the composite Mushaira, Sham Sajan, Rahul Kumar, Jaideep Rattan and Satveer Singh regaled the audience with their melodious songs in Dogri and Urdu. Kuldip Kapoor accompanied the singers on Tabla.
Prof Lalit Magotra, who presided over the programme, gave his detailed observations about the programme and emphasized the need to organize such programmes at regular intervals.
Noted Dogri poet Gyaneshwar was the chief guest and in his speech, he thanked Thakur Randhir Singh Raipuria for hosting this excellent Mehfil. Deepak Aarsi conducted the proceedings of the programme.
Others who attended included Amarjot Kour, Deepak Chatta, Kuldip Gupta, Jang S Verman and Ravinder Kaul.
