Indian forces best in world: Dr Jitendra

Excelsior Correspondent
NEW DELHI, Oct 10 : Lauding extraordinarily commendable role of the Indian armed forces, Dr Jitendra Singh,Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology and Earth Sciences, MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Space and Atomic Energy, said here today that the role of the military and paramilitary forces, particularly BSF, during the flood rescue operations in Kashmir valley recently followed by their brave response to the incessant Pakistan firing on the International Border has proved beyond doubt that the Indian forces are equally competent to fight the enemy on the border as well as a calamity within.
Those who are hesitant or scared of coming out wholeheartedly in praise of the Army and paramilitary are, in fact, either trying to appease separatist elements in Kashmir or are afraid of causing displeasure to militants, he added.
Dr Jitendra Singh said that the Indian military and paramilitary forces are certainly the best in the world and those who refuse to acknowledge this are, in fact, committing a grave sin. He called upon all sections of opinion irrespective of their political or religious affiliations to listen to the voice of the conscience and hail the role of the Army, first during the relief operations in Jammu & Kashmir and now in thwarting the enemy aggression on the borders.
Responding to what he described as “unwarranted” criticism in certain quarters,Dr Jitendra Singh said, “those who were vociferously opposing us till about three weeks ago are now actually swallowing a humble pie and are now issuing meaningless statements because they have nothing to say”. There is no need to reply them because the Indian forces are replying them all,he added.
For the first time after many years, Dr Jitendra Singh said that a befitting reply given to the Pak aggression on the borders has raised the confidence and self-esteem of the entire nation and particularly that of the people living along with borders.
There is also a lesson for those,he said, who tried to gain political mileage by opposing the Modi Government to call off Secretary level talks following the Hurriyat leaders’ meeting with the Pak High Commissioner. It is interesting to see that the same protagonists are now also towing the line of not having talks till the Pakistani guns are silenced, he observed.
Dr Jitendra Singh also thanked the Union Home Minister for having agreed in principle to enhance the exgratia monetary relief for the deceased and other victims of the firing on the borders.
