Indian Youth Parliament concludes at Leh

LEH, June 23: Two days Indian Youth Parliament–Himalayan Session, organized by the Indian Youth Parliament in association with J&K Government, LAHDC Leh, CIBS, Mahabodhi International Mediation Centre Leh, Media Foundation and EJM Degree College Leh, concluded, here.
The theme of the two-day Youth Parliament was on social awareness and entrepreneurship in youth with special reference to enhance geo-culture diversity of Himalayan region.
Eminent scholars, socio-political activists, policy makers and journalists addressed the youth about issues concerning today’s youth in the Himalayan regions, particularly in Ladakh.
Among the dignitaries who spoke on the occasion included Executive Councillor Gyal P Wangyal, Director CIBS Prof Geshe Konchok Wangdus, Former CEC, LAHDC, Leh Rigzin Spalbar, Director Central Institute of Himalayan Culture Studies, Arunachal Pradesh Geshe Ngawang Tashi Bapu, former Regional Director RGNYDI Stanzin Dawa, Founder President MIMC Bikkhu Sanghasena, Celebrated Ladakhi businessman Shamshu Angchuk and Convener IYP Ashutosh Joshi.
While briefing about the purpose of conducting this Youth Parliament, Geshe Konchok Wangdus spoke on different issues that Ladakhi youth are confronting with in today’s rapidly changing world. He stressed on the need for the development of inner peace alongside material development.
As Ladakh is passing through a crucial transition period, former CEC Rigzin Spalbar emphasized on the need to develop a vision for future or implement the Vision Document of the LAHDC.
Bikkhu Sanghasena advised youth to have a global vision for a better world rising above petty differences such as that of religious or others.
Questions raised by participating students about different issues were also entertained and answered by panelists.
