The toll revenues have also increased from Rs 4,770 crore in 2013-14 to Rs 41,342 crore. Similarly, the implementation of Fastags has contributed to reduced waiting times at toll plazas, which now average 47 seconds. This road infrastructure development has significantly improved connectivity. It has connected remote areas, hilly terrains and difficult-to-reach regions, enabling better access to essential services, markets, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, disaster management and law enforcement. The enhanced road network has facilitated economic development in the regions. It has opened up opportunities for trade, commerce, and tourism.
