JAMMU, Feb 18: Indira IVF Jammu has brought renewed hope to couples struggling with infertility, particularly those who have previously abandoned their dreams of parenthood. A recent success story highlights the advancements in assisted reproductive technology, showcasing how a 44-year-old woman overcame secondary infertility despite a severely diminished ovarian reserve.
Infertility remains a significant challenge, especially as women age. The natural decline in egg quantity and quality is further compounded by factors such as lifestyle choices, stress, vitamin deficiencies, genetic predispositions, and medical conditions like endometriosis. However, modern innovations in reproductive medicine are making parenthood possible for many.
Dr Manisha Bhagat from Indira IVF Jammu elaborated on the complexities of treating women with low AMH levels or diminished ovarian reserve. Traditional approaches typically involve medications such as antioxidants, vitamins, and androgens. However, Ovarian PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) therapy has recently emerged as a promising technique. This procedure involves injecting PRP into the ovarian tissue to stimulate blood circulation, potentially improving egg quality and increasing the chances of conception.
The case of 44-year-old Sunita (name changed) illustrates the effectiveness of this approach. Despite having one child, she faced significant difficulty conceiving again. Her situation was particularly challenging due to a family history of premature menopause and a critically low AMH value of 0.1. An initial IVF attempt failed due to poor egg quality. However, following the Ovarian PRP procedure, there was a marked improvement in both egg quantity and quality, leading to a successful IVF cycle that produced a viable embryo.
To ensure the embryo’s genetic viability, a Preimplantation Genetic Testing for Aneuploidy (PGT-A) was conducted. This screening, crucial for women over 35, checks for abnormalities such as Down syndrome. The results confirmed the embryo’s normal genetic status, allowing for its successful transfer into the uterus. Sunita subsequently conceived and carried her pregnancy to term without complications, ultimately delivering a healthy baby.
This success story underscores the potential of Ovarian PRP and IVF technology in offering hope to couples facing infertility, reaffirming Indira IVF Jammu’s role in transforming lives through medical innovation.
