Sir,
The stand off between Chinese and Indian armies in the Doko La or Dokolam area near Sikkim has exposed Chinese nefarious designs. It has brought to fore its expansionist designs in the sub-continent. Through its expansionist policy it wants to contain India’s growth in the region and emerge as a dominent power in the world.
Whatever may the cost, India should not allow China to succeed in its nefarious designs. This is the time India makes it clear to China that no amount of bullying is going to make India bend before it. Otherwise, the construction of the road will enable the Chinese to bring the point of the dagger to the vital Siliguri Corridor, also known as Chicken’s Neck which connects mainland India with its north-east comprising seven States.
The Chinese media, think tank and its ambassador in India have been issuing threatening statements for last one month. India must resist these attempts to safe the interests of the country.
Yours etc….

Sir,
This has reference to the article ‘Elephant countervailing the Dragon’ DE July 4. The author has rightly blamed the previous Governments for bringing China closer to Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Nepal and Myanmar and now Bangladesh. Had Governments framed a comprehensive foreign policy vis-a-vis China and our neighbours, this situation would not have arisen. Besides, the visits to various countries including USA and Israel by our Prime Minister is welcome step.
Yours etc…
