Indu Pawar addresses Mahila Cong workers

JAMMU, Sept 24: Indu Pawar,  president of Mahila Congress J&K, held a meeting of Mahila Congress workers from  Reasi and highlighted the initiatives taken by the Government for upliftment of women.
Mrs  Pawar stressed that women were  capable of performing any function and duties in a civilized society provided opportunities were given  without discrimination on gender basis. She  appealed to recognize also the rights of girl child and provide her all facilities to grow in education and employment to reduce crime against women which is slur on the society.
Listing the number of schemes introduced for upliftment of women, Mrs Pawar  said that Congress under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi has  taken a historic step by getting  Women Reservation Bill passed in Rajya Sabha.
Asking the Mahila Congress workers to understand importance of education in today’s world, she urged them to make it ensure to send their children to schools.
