SRINAGAR, Feb 16: Expressing concern over the absence of Sikh members in autonomous bodies like, J&K Public Service Commission (JKPSC) and J&K Service Selection Board (SSB), All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC), Kashmir has impressed upon the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to appoint honest and upright Sikh officers on such positions.
In a press statement, APSCC Chairman, Jagmohan Singh Raina said that there are many honest and upright Sikh officers in J&K who can be appointed as members of these autonomous bodies. He said that there is no let up in discrimination against the Sikh community and the same gets proved by the absence of community members as the members of PSC and SSB in JKUT. Moreover, no specific employment package has been provided to the Sikh youth so far in the JK UT.
” Over the past seven decades or so, the Sikhs of Jammu and Kashmir have been discriminated in each and every sphere of life. The successive governments in the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir have meted out injustice to the Sikh community and the present dispensation is no different,” Raina stated.
” It is the responsibility of the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to ensure that Sikhs are given due representation in the autonomous bodies of the Jammu and Kashmir,” Raina asserted.
