JAMMU, Aug 21: Induction for Bachelors in Vocational Studies programmes in Retail and Tourism Management was organized in Central University of Jammu.
This initiative was taken under the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) of. University Grant Commission (UGC). Prof Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor Central University of Jammu, has been instrumental in getting this programme for the university. The Central University of Jammu (CUJ) is the first University in Jammu region where this programme has been initiated.
Prof Deepak Raj Gupta, Dean, School of Business Studies, distributed the Induction Kits. He emphasized the importance of vocational courses in the contemporary scenario and skill enhancement amongst the young generation to excel in their professional endeavors.
Dr Jaya Bhasin, Head of the Department, HR and OB, CUJ, addressed the students about the career opportunities in the Retail Management. She emphasized the requirement of Human resource development in the retail industry which is one the fastest growing sectors in India.
The faculty members from School of Business Studies were present during the Induction Programme. Dr Neelika Arora, Dr Shahid Mushtaq, Gowhar Rasool, Anjali Pathania, Asif Ali from Department of HRM and OB, CUJ and Dr. Bharti, Dr Poonam, Ranjeet, Rahul, Rakesh from Department of Tourism and Travel Management, Central University of Jammu attended the Induction programme.
Dr. Neelika Arora, Assistant Professor, Department of HR and OB, CUJ, conducted proceeding of the programme. Dr Amit Gangotia delivered the formal vote of thanks.
