Industrialists’ delegation meets CT Commissioner

JAMMU, Nov 29: A delegation of industrialists today met Commissioner, Commercial Taxes (CT), J&K Government, PK Bhat, and urged him to release GST refund claim of the industrial units at the earliest.
The delegation which was led by Rahul Sahai, chairman, Sahai Group of Companies, apprised the Commissioner that due to delay in the release of GST refund claim to eligible units as assured by the Government, working capital of the units have been blocked since over a year and half.
Sahai requested the Commissioner to register those establishments under GST refund scheme which could not be registered earlier and are filling their returns and depositing taxes timely.
Bhat assured that the disbursement of GST refund shall start immediately as it has been instructed to ETOs to verify the claims. Also, he assured that he shall look into the matter of registration of those which could not be registered earlier in GST refund scheme.
The commissioner assured full cooperation and support to the industrialists. He said that the department shall not harass and penalize any establishment without a valid reason.
Also part of the delegation were Mian Aleem Khan (prominent Industrialist), Deepak Dhaftri, (general secretary, Transport Welfare Association) and Rakesh Dogra.
