JAMMU, Apr 4: Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) organized an entrepreneurship lecture under the aegis of TEQIP-III programme to promote Industry-Institute interaction, in its premises.
Mohammad Tabish, CEO, Aqua bridge, UAE delivered the key note lecture. Prof Iqbal Parwez, Dean Academic Affairs and Coordinator TEQIP III, presided over the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Iqbal said that there is need for bridging gap between industry and academia. He said that BGSBU strongly believes in building a firm foundation for corporate interface through intense industry connects and practices. Prof Iqbal mentioned that the varsity is persistently in touch with the leading corporate groups and work closely towards analyzing the industry expectations and requirements. He emphasized on the promotion of entrepreneurship culture among the budding students to become self-reliant.
Mohammad Tabish made an exhaustive deliberation on the topic, “The making of an entrepreneur- Empowering the promising college graduates to business owners”. He shared his own story of becoming an entrepreneur with the audience. He stressed on the importance of scaling up from the idea inception to business establishment. He captured the attention of the audience by showing the technical units of the Aqua industry in UAE through his presentation. He spelled out the key parameters required for being an entrepreneur and stressed on the importance of Industry-Academia collaboration.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ashfaq Zarri, Registrar of the University highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship in curbing unemployment from the society. Dr Zari said that entrepreneurship development is a way out to deal with unemployment and will help in social transformation towards prosperity. He stressed upon the students to become job providers rather than the job seekers. He encouraged the students to pursue entrepreneurship as a career options and to explore the world of science and technology to its fullest.
Malik Mubashir, Principal, University Polytechnic gave vote of thanks where as Farkhanda Ana conducted the proceedings of the program.
