Industry Academia meet under theme ‘Gauging Industry Perception’ held

JAMMU, Jan 24: International Centre for Cross Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR & HRM), University of Jammu here today organized Industry Academia Meet-2024 under the theme ‘Gauging Industry Perception’.
A handout stated that objective of the Meet was to interact with the students of MBA (International Business) and to brainstorm suggestive measures for developing industry academia interfaces and road ahead to explore emergent entrepreneurial opportunities in J&K.
Industry Experts for the meet were Vinod Baxla, General Manager, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL), North Division; Parveen Kumar, Deputy General Manager PGCIL, North Division; Varun Prabhakar, Manager-Sales Division, Prevest Denpro Pvt Ltd (PDPL) and Sandeep Sharma, Manager-Human Resources Division PDPL.
Expert from EDI Jammu was Divya Sharma, In-charge Centre for Women Entrepreneurship JKEDI-Jammu.
The consolidated suggestive measures and deliberations of industry experts and expert from EDI-Jammu for academia were to develop curriculum with special orientation towards international skill accreditation systems and structures thereby enabling students to develop aligned skills as formative years of career development.
For startups and incubation, the EDI official provided detailed information to students.
Prof. Hardeep Chahal expressed the need to organize such meets in continuum so that the benefits can be realized in terms of industry academia interface development, wherein academia can be at forefront to cater to the industrial needs in terms of professionals, advisory, training and collaborations.
The meet was organized by Dr. Isha Sharma, Faculty, ICccR & HRM, University of Jammu as Principal Investigator under UoJRF-Seed Grant.
The faculty members at ICccR & HRM, students of MBA (International Business) and research scholars participated in the meet.
