KATHUA, Oct 24: A 5-month-old baby girl died and her mother and father sustained injuries in an accident on the Bani-Dhaman road in Kathua district today.

A police official said that an Eco Vehicle (JK08P-6559) skidded off the road near Khabbal Bridge on the Bani-Dhaman road and fell into a gorge, resulting in death of an infant on-the-spot and injuries to her mother and father.
He said the injured, identified as Mohammad Irfan (25) son of Sher Ali of Chaloge and his wife Priya Bano, were immediately taken to PHC, where after preliminary treatment, they were shifted to CHC Bani for advanced treatment.
Police have registered a case under the relevant Sections of the law and started further investigation into the matter, added the police official..
