Infiltration bid foiled in Jammu, army jawan injured

JAMMU, Dec 30:
An Army jawan was injured in cross border firing when own troops successfully foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Pallanwalla sector at Akhnoor of Jammu.
‘Troops of 11 JAK Rifles foiled an infiltration bid at around 1215 hrs, when an infiltrator tried to sneak into Indian Territory at Nalwa Border out Post (BoP) in Pallanwalla sector at Akhnoor tehsil of Jammu, following which the troops opened fire at him,’ official sources here said.
They said Pakistan Army also started firing indiscriminately on forward Indian BoPs in the sector and one jawan of 11 JAK Rifles – Jatinder Sharma got injured in this exchange of fire.
‘The firing lasted for some 30 minutes,’ they said. Meanwhile, the injured jawan was admitted at Sub District Hospital (SDH) Akhnoor, official sources added. (AGENCIES)
