JAMMU, June 10: Troops last night foiled an infiltration attempt on the Line of Control (LoC) at Panjani Nullah in Balakote sector of Poonch district.
Reports said Army personnel in their forward posts observed movement of the militants trying to infiltrate into the Indian territory from Panjani Nullah in Balakote sector late last night. They opened firing on the militants to neutralize them.
The militants retreated to Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) after firing by the troops.
Sources said finding the troops alert on this side, the militants retreated immediately to PoK, from where they had been launched, and didn’t engage the Army in firing to force infiltration.
There was, however, no ceasefire violation by the Pakistani troops during infiltration attempt by the militants, sources said.
