JAMMU, July 8: A militant was killed and a soldier martyred as troops foiled an infiltration bid in Tangdhar sector of Kupwara district today.

A militant was killed during an infiltration bid in Tangdhar sector while as search for other militant is on.
A soldier of 6-JAK Rifle identified as Jasvir Singh was injured in the exchange of fire. He was shifted to hospital in critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries.
One AK-47, 4 pistols, 3 AK-47 magazines, 3 pistol magazines, 5 hand grenades and ammunition were recovered from the spot.
An official said that it was a BAT strike which was foiled by the alert troops on the LoC.
