Info Deptt organizes debate competition, cultural programme

JAMMU, Oct 17: On the eve of Sir Syed Day, a debate competition was organized by District Information Centre, Rajouri  at Govt  PG College, Rajouri with the aim to spread awareness among the students about the vision and ideology of scholar  Sir Syed Ahmed Khan.
On the occasion, SSP Rajouri, Haseeb Mughal was the chief guest while Professor Iqbal Raina and Prof. Haqeeqat Singh Isher were the guest of honor.
Shahdab Ahmed Mir was adjudged as the best speaker, while Mohammad Abdullah and Sahil Gupta got 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, SSP, Rajouri Haseeb Mughal described Sir Syed Ahmed Khan as the epoch making figure who greatly influenced the generation after him. He called upon the new generation to follow the mission and footsteps of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan so as to face the changing conditions and challenges in present world and thus provide a hope for a new morning. He said Sir Syed was bright minded personality who followed wisdom.
Later, a colorful cultural programme was also presented by Cultural Assistants of Information Department along with the local artists.
