JAMMU, Oct 28: A one-day information sharing session for sensitization on ‘Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP)’ aligned with NEP-2020 was organised by Department of Educational Studies, Central University of Jammu (CUJ) in collaboration with National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) at Brig. Rajinder Singh Auditorium, CUJ.
Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Vice Chancellor CUJ inaugurated the event in presence of Kesang Y Sherpa, Member Secretary, NCTE, New Delhi; Prof. H.C.S Rathore, Chairperson NRC (NCTE); Prof. P.C Agarwal, Member, ITEP Curriculum Framework Committee; Prof. J.N Baliya, Member, NRC (NCTE); Ravinder Singh, Under Secretary, NCTE; B.K Chaturvedi, Nodal Officer (NEP) NCTE; Abhimanyu Yadav, Co- convener, ITEP and faculty members from allied higher educational institutions of Jammu region.
Prof. Sanjeev Jain highlighted the vision of NEP-2020 for transforming teacher education through ITEP and reiterated the need for effective implementation of ITEP so as to fulfil the transformative vision of NEP 2020.
Prof. J.N Baliya, Member NRC, NCTE New Delhi; Kesang Y Sherpa, Member Secretary, NCTE also spoke on the occasion.
The stakeholders of the program were Principals of Government colleges, members of SCERT, Teacher Educators and Research Scholars.
Prof. H.C.S Rathore, Chairman, ITEP Curriculum Framework emphasized that teachers should be prepared on the basis of their choice therefore their aptitude and dedication assist to excel in nation building.
Prof. P C Aggrawal, Member, Curriculum Framework Committee, emphasized that the teachers have to uncover the note to cover the content.
At the end an open session for question-answers and observations was conducted. The event concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Kiran, Faculty members of the Department.
