SAMBA, Nov 10: Department of Information and Public Relations organized an awareness-cum-interaction programme here at Barrian to educate the people of the area about various Government schemes meant for welfare of different sections of the State.
The programme was held in collaboration with ICDS Project Samba and ‘Astitav Theatre and Musical group’ from Songs and Drama Division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt of India.
During the programme, the participants were apprised about the welfare programmes being implemented by various departments for womenfolk.
Speaking on the occasion, CDPO Samba Dr Deepak Kumar emphasized on significant role of interpersonal skills of field functionaries in better implementation of the schemes at the ground level. He also stressed upon the need for reaching out to the people and making them aware about these schemes.
During the event, the cultural troupes presented songs and skit highlighting issues of gender imbalance and discrimination with the girl child. The field functionaries from ICDS also highlighted various schemes like Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Ujjwala Yojana, Ladli Beti and Swachh Bharat Mission.
DIO Samba Vishav Pratap Singh, Supervisors Tripta Devi, Sudesh Kumari, Prem Rajni, AWWs and AWHs from Nanke Chak and Dagore were also present on the occasion.
