JAMMU, Jan 22: The officers of Information Department today appealed Chief Secretary to implement the Govt Order No. 107, issued by GAD on January 16, 2002, in compliance to court direction.
As per this order, all the slots diverted earlier from one source to another should be restored back in future.
Expressing astonishment over the gap existing between the allotted slots to promotee group and direct-recruits, the officers have sought immediate reversion of slots to promote group to balance the share. At present, there are 364 slots occupied by direct recruits against the share of 370 while this number is just 142 allotted to promotee group ( 18 services) out of their share of 370.
In a statement, the officers demand that Government should take necessary steps for bridging this gap of 228 slots by way of allotting all the slots available with GAD and Establishment Committee constituted by the Government for the purpose. Pinning hope on the Chief Secretary, the officers were optimistic about the impartiality of CS , who would not allow any body to do anything which mars the rights of promotee group.
“Let us see how the Government l honours the court direction, circulated in the form of Govt order No. 107,” the officers said, adding that14 slots are due for Information Service against which only five are in position and nine are yet to be inducted. Likewise, they informed, the Sectt Service has got only two slots against the share of 28, leaving a balance of 26. The officers appealed to the officers of other 17 services ( promotee group) to come forward and seek their share of slots in KAS.
