NEW DELHI, June 29:
An informed decision making system based on robust statistics on social sectors like health, education, poverty, employment, social backwardness, housing and environment, will pave the way for holistic development of India, President Pranab Mukherjee said today.
A message to the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), on the occasion of the 9th Statistics Day, the President said, ”The theme ‘Social Development’ chosen for this year’s Statistics Day is appropriate in the current scenario.
Let us on this day, draw inspiration from the life and career of Prof Mahalanobis whose excellence has influenced many to adopt statistical techniques in various subjects.
