Infrastructure-connectivity issues pushing back tourism:MPSTDC

BHOPAL, May 25: The Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (MPSTDC) has said that infrastructure deficit and poor connectivity are still the main factors that were obstructing growth in the toursim sector.
Stating this, MPSTDC Chairman Mohan Yadav and its Managing Director Pankaj Rag said at a seminar here that efforts were on to improve connectivity.
Yadav said that Air Ventura flights had already been started in Madhya Pradesh and the process of starting chopper services was on.
Rag said that many initiatives were being taken to lure tourists to MP and added that these included aggressive marketing, encouraging investment, good publicity and infrastructure development.
He said that for the first time, the Tourism Department has commissioned the National Geographic Channel to make a film on the State’s heritage, wildlife and historical legacy. (PTI)
