SRINAGAR, Aug 10: Apni Trade Union president, Ajaz Kazmi while interacting with J&K SC/ST/OBC Casual Workers Union from Budgam today claimed injustice has been done with them by the concerned department by a major depreciation in their wages.
He also said that condition of these casual workers is extremely deplorable and the concerned department seems to have acted in negligent manner towards the welfare of these casual workers.
The daily wagers informed that earlier wages paid to unskilled casual workers was Rs. 9,050 per month and Rs. 12,000 to the skilled labourers but recently they have been informed by the concerned authorities in Social Welfare Department that they will be now paid only Rs 2000 per month.
Kazmi assured them that their genuine grievances will be taken up with the competent authorities to mitigate their sufferings at an earliest.
