Inmates of Jagti without electricity for last one month

JAMMU, July 9: The inmates of Block 171,Lane Number 26-27 Jagti township are facing complete blackout for last one month after the Electric Panel in the building burnt down due to short circuit.
The inmates of the building said that since then they have made many requests to the concerned agencies for restoration of the Panel but no body bothered to look into the problem and restore the power supply in the block.
The inmates of the block said that earlier the renovation of the buildings was done by Relief Organisation itself but after handing over the maintenance of the buildings to R&B Department no one bothers to look into the problems putting the people to lot of trouble in this hot and humid temperature.
The inmates said that they are worried for the safety of the chronic patients suffering from some fatal disease as their condition is worsening due to power crisis in the block.
The inmates made an appeal to the Government that the maintenance of the buildings should be given back to Relief Organisation which is nodal agency of migrants and whom the camp inmates can easily approach.
The inmates of the camp including Ramesh Kaul, Sameer Saproo, Makhan Lal Koul and Kamal Krishan Bhat have made an appeal to LG, Manoj Sinha in this regard and sought his immediate intervention. Dr Ramesh Bhat a social activist has also sought immediate attention of the authorities towards the problem and demanded immediate restoration of power supply to the block. He termed the delaying tactics adopted by the authorities a gross violation of human rights as life is impracticable to pass in this hot and humid temperature of Summer without electricity which is a great and basic necessity for a human being.
