NAVRATRA WITH A DIFFERENCE

Mother Goddess in her nine incarnations
vowed to bless mankind who worship
truth, love, brotherhood, abide by the
theosophical philosophy, help the needy
and create human relation in all dimensions…
Nine days of Sharad ‘Navratra’ have concluded,
ninth day converged with ‘Mahanavami’, ‘Dussehra’,
and ‘Vijay Dashmi’ – a rare conjugation
of auspicious days of Hindu festivity,
but have we cashed the bliss or abdicated?
I was supposed to meditate for the maximum
time of day and night to tranquil my mental
agitation, illiteracy, illusion and delusions;
but everytime my thoughts went wayward,
lost in horrible happenings of rape – shameful and gruesome…
While lighting the lamp in honor of victory,
my fingers fumbled because we have not
won the war on insurgents – inside and
on the borders, the polluted political system
Is adulterated with corruption and bribery…
An ignorant on the first ‘Navratra’ thinks
of the ninth day, eager to de-control
his food limitations, doesn’t like to fast,
during prayers looks mute and dumb,
doesn’t bother to move lips but winks…
We, the Indians have not been able
to unite and defeat the rave ‘Raavan’,
not able to dethrone the complacent ‘Kansa’,
not in a uniformity to recite a universal
carol,
Yes, we are weak and cowards, can
easily crumble…
My humble prayer to eternal Mother
is to make my moral self a porous censer
and my theosophy as an incense stick,
meditation be the spiritual fragrance
and devotion without any bash or bother…

GOD

The God is a parent to all,
No matter whether big or small,
He keeps, He cares, He loves everyone,
Even me and you or the huge sun,
Showers in the desert or Sun in the cold,
Every boon every blessing is in his cold,
He blesses the loving and blesses the kind,
He gives legs to lame and sight to the blind,
For him no one is rich, no one is poor,
If you remember him he is on your door,
God is a parent to all,
No matter whether big or small……

Param Vir Chakar

With words I weave garlands
and wreaths;
And adore you for your audacious deeds;
Congratulate you being conferred Param
Vir Chakar;
You really deserve for your indomitable
valour;
For conquering the heights of Siachen
Glacier;
Also for Valour of Kargil’s Tiger Hill
Capture;
In 1987 Bana Singh gained access to
these heights;
Amidst hail storm of bullets
destroyed the enemy sites;
Joginder Singh Yadav in 1999
captured the Tiger Hill;
Unnerved by bullet injuries both did
enemy kill;
Who fled in awe and horror from lions
of Siachen and Tiger Hill;
The Vantage points are again ours
on Siachen and Tiger Hill;
Our Motherland, Our Nation is proud
of your valour;
I rejoice! In Life-time you both are
conferred this honour.

THE LOST SOLACE

Reminding those hazy days,
Where is the lost solace;
Thinking of what has changed,
Something that I can’t understand.
Beautiful memories of mine,
Inside me always shine;
There is something, I forgot,
Don’t know what I’ve sought,
Those faded childhood prattles
And playing every game like a battle;
Are never going to settle,
That stubborn mind,
And resolute heart of mine;
Used to play tricks every time;
Filling every slot of emptiness,
Living without any stress;
But what is this pace,
Where is the lost solace.
Can’t forget that blowing grace,
Now which I can’t exactly trace;
Counting every pulse of the time,
I know that this pain is prime,
Where is my grave of fun,
Where is that glowing sun;
I’m nowhere in this race,
Where is the lost solace.
O My life come again!
Give me that glimpse in grain;
With the last breath of mine,
Hope I get that shine,
Taking with me what I’ve gained,
And will never let them go in vain;
Reminding those hazy days,
Where is the lost solace.
