Inner Wheel Club organizes talk on ‘Breast Feeding Practices’

JAMMU, Aug 8: Inner Wheel Club Jammu New Gen here today organized a talk on Breast Feeding Practices to commemorate World Breast Feeding Week 2021.
World Breast Feeding Week is celebrated to encourage breast feeding and improve the health of babies around the world.
The Talk was given by Dr. Palki Sharma in which she dispelled various myths related to breast feeding.
While talking to the ladies, Dr. Palki said if breast feeding will be promoted more effectively, more children would survive with lower rates of disease and malnutrition.
The Talk lasted for one hour wherein the importance of breast feeding was discussed and queries of the audience were answered by the resource person.
Speaking on the occasion president of the Club, Anita Goel mentioned that breast feeding is the normal approach of providing young infants with the nutrients required for a healthy growth.
She also mentioned that during the Week the Club has provided milk, fruits and other supplements to five lactating women from the slum area.
Club secretary, Ambika Samnotra presented vote of thanks.
