NEW YORK, Nov 8: Indian National Overseas Congress (I), US, has congratulated President Obama on his re-election win.
“I am certain that the warm relationship and the enduring partnership between the US and India will continue to grow under the stewardship of President Obama,” president of INOC (I) George Abraham said in a statement issued yesterday.
“The strategic relationship between our two democracies is stronger than ever and we hope to see that reaching even greater heights.”
The statement expressed hope that US will not pursue protectionist policies in the future as India continues to open up its market through reform measures such as FDI in the multi-brand retail space.
“America as a champion of free-market policies cannot revert to protectionism,” the statement added, referring to the reported anti-outsourcing stance of the Obama administration. (UNI)
