Inquiry committee to probe irregularities in R S Pura Sub Treasury

JAMMU, May 18: An inquiry committee has been constituted to probe into the alleged negligence by the Assistant Treasury Officer at Sub Treasury, RS Pura.
Reports have surfaced indicating that the officer’s failure to entertain Treasury Work Bills led to a financial bottleneck, affecting the optimal utilisation of funds for the financial year 2023-24 and resulting in the creation of liabilities for 2024-25.
The committee, headed by the Additional District Development Commissioner of Jammu, is comprised of the members, including the Chief Planning Officer and Treasury Officer Saddar Treasury, Town Hall, Jammu. The team is tasked with submitting a factual report within a stringent deadline of three days.
This move comes after concerns were raised regarding the underutilisation of funds and the subsequent financial strain on future budgets.
