LEH, June 13: Administration of Ladakh today constituted a UT Level Inquiry Committee to review cases of eligible convicts for grant of special exemption as per the guidelines issued by Ministry of Home Affairs under `Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.
The committee, headed by Administrative Secretary, Home Department, shall review the records and examine each case of all those eligible prisoners who fulfill the conditions for exemption as per the Home Ministry guidelines.
The committee shall give its recommendation to the Administration of UT of Ladakh for grant of special exemption. The eligible prisoners shall be released in three phases-August 12, 2022, January 26, 2023 and August 15, 2023.
Administrative Secretary, Law and Justice is Member of the Committee while Head of the Department of Prisons is its Member Secretary.
