JAMMU, Jan 1: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Commissioner, Dr. Devansh Yadav has announced that the Urban Local Body (ULB) is taking an initiative to benefit sanitary workers who are contracted through NGOs in JMC.
“In collaboration with J&K Bank and Bajaj Allianz, JMC will provide accidental insurance coverage of Rs. 5 lakh to these workers starting from January 1, 2025 with premium being paid through the NGOs,” Dr. Yadav said while extending New Year wishes to the people of J&K in general and to the employees of JMC and their families in particular.
He said that the initiative of accidental insurance aims to enhance the sense of safety and security for the workers and their families thereby boosting their confidence.
Dr. Yadav further emphasized that these workers would also reap the benefits from Government welfare schemes aimed at improving the lives of the working class.
He encouraged everyone to work together to make J&K a better place to live and work.
