JAMMU, Aug 12: After resuming their agitation to demand early and satisfactory wage revision and one more option for pension, the LIC employees held massive demonstrations outside LIC offices in Jammu and Kashmir as per the decision of the Joint Front of Unions in LIC.
A massive demonstration during lunch time was held outside DO Cell Jammu jointly led by Comrade Pawan Gupta Divisional Secretary NZIEA Srinagar Division, Rakesh Magotra NFIFWI, Ramesh Kumar of NOINO and Narinder Sharma, Secretary LIC Class-1 Federation.
Speaking on the occasion, the speakers said that the wage revision of LIC employees has been due since August 1, 2012, and it has been since more than three years that no proper response is there from the Management. In spite of the positive attitude of the employees, who had postponed their proposed strike proposed for July 8, 2015 on the assurance of the Management that it will seriously take up the issue with the Government, the Management and the NDA Government have turned deaf ears to the demands of the employees, they added.
Regarding the demand of providing one more option of pension to the left out employees, the speakers said that this genuine demand is the residual issue of the last wage revision and in spite of commitments, has not been fulfilled till now.
The employees lambasted the NDA Government for its anti working class policies and warned of intensifying the struggle if the Management did not come forward with a proposal as per the strength of the industry and also as per aspirations of the employees.
They said that they won’t let link their wage revision with any other industry and also any conditionality of Mobility or the Biometrics will not be acceptable to the employees.
They appealed to all the employees not to work after office hours with effect from today.
Among others, who spoke were Dinesh Sharma, NZIEA Srinagar Division, Ravi Pandita, Class-1 Federation, Vijay Khajuria, Shreshtha Sharma, Alkiya Sharma, Kishore Lal and Rajesh Kumar.
