Inter-State drug peddlers held with 5 kgs of Ganja-like-substance

JAMMU, June 26: Jammu and Kashmir Police claimed today they have recovered 5 kilograms of Ganja-like-substance from two inter-state drug peddlers at Pounichak area.
A police official said that a party of Police Post Pounichak established a naka at Seora area for routine checking of the vehicles.
He said during search of the vehicles, two pedestrians coming from Nandini side towards Seora diverted their directions soon after seeing the police party but they were chased and overpowered.
They were later identified as Karan Kumar Kurrey of Jhangir Champa, Chhattisgarh at present Nandan and Gulab Rai Patel of Spiti Chhattisgarh.
On search of their bags, 5 kilograms of Ganja-like-substance was recovered, he said.
Accordingly, a case FIR number 178/2024 under sections 8/20/21 of the NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Domana and both the accused were arrested by a team of Police Station Pounichak under the supervision of SHO Domana, and SDPO Domana.
Further investigation into the case is underway, he added.
