UDHAMPUR, Apr 14: Police today arrested an inter-state narcotic smuggler along with 4.5 kilograms of bhukki near Jakheni area, falling under the jurisdiction of Udhampur police station.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Udhampur police station laid a naka near Jakheni and intercepted a car bearing registration number PB25B-0130.
During checking, police recovered 4.5 kilograms of bhukki and arrested the inter-state narcotic smuggler.
The accused has been identified as Surinder Pal, son of Chaman Lal of Phagwara, Punjab.
A case under FIR number 124/15 under Section 8/15 under Section Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Udhampur police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Udhampur police station Inspector Mahesh Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Gaurav Mahajan and SSP Udhampur Suleman Choudhary.
