DODA, Nov 24: An inter-state sapphire smugglers gang was today busted by the police while three people were arrested alongwith blue sapphire here today.
As per police sources, inter-state sapphire smugglers gang was busted and three people were arrested alongwith blue sapphire stones worth lakhs of rupees from their possession in Prem Nagar area.
The arrested persons have been identified as Yogesh Verma, son of Janak Raj Verma, Iqbal Singh, son of Makhan Singh and Tilka Singh, son of Ram Parshad, all residents of Ambala, Haryana.
A case under Section 4/5 Sapphire Act and 34 RPC has been registered at police station Thathri and investigations are in progress.
Police team led by Incharge police post Prem Nagar ASI Balwant Singh and SHO Thathri Vinay Parihar made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Bhaderwah Sajjad Khan.
