JAMMU, Jan 23: Taking initiative of organizing interaction sessions on socio-political, economic, constitutional and developmental issues of Jammu region, the “Interaction Forum Jammu Province” organized its first one day Interactive session, here today at Press Club Jammu.
In the maiden interactive session of the Forum, the agenda was to identify the core issues which concern the social, economic, political and developmental interests of Jammu province and give suggestions for devising a mechanism for protecting the interests of Jammu Province viz-a-viz the other regions of the State and also suggest constitutional and legislative requirements to address the core issues.
The significant core issues, which emerged in the brainstorming interaction; included forgoing broader unity among all areas and sections of the Jammu Province, equitable distribution of resources on the basis of area and population vis-à-vis the local needs, delimitation of Parliament, Assembly and local-self bodies, formulation of polices to address unrest among the unemployed youth, farmers, migrants, refugees, pensioners, ex-servicemen, traders, consumers, non regularized employees, and also eradication of corruption from public life, Lokpal, ensuring speedy justice and good governance.
