Interactive session held under SVEEP for mass mobilisation

REASI, Dec 4: In order to mobilise masses on the SVEEP (Systematic Voters Education & Electoral Participation), a meeting-cum-interactive session of Panchs, Sarpanchs, Chowkidars, Numberdars and prominent citizens and officers of various departments was held under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Rajinder Singh Tara here today.
Speaking on the occasion, officers of various departments informed about the aim and objectives of the SVEEP,  voters registration process and how to create awareness among electors about electoral participation. The officers also interacted with the Panchs, Sarpanchs and others and cleared their doubts.
Rajinder Singh Tara informed that December 10 is going to be a historic day for Reasi as on this day proceedings under SVEEP will be conducted in 147 Panchayats and 2 urban towns. The district administration under the guidance of DDC Reasi, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary is all set for this mammoth exercise and about 301 polling stations and three Assembly constituencies will witness this exercise at Panchayat  level.
Administration has linked 301 polling stations with 147 Panchayats where functions will be held under SVEEP in day long proceedings. NGOs, social, educational, political and even religious associations /organisations have been involved for this purpose.
A “Special Voters Awareness Drive” which included motorbike rally, rallies by school children, symposiums, Nukad Nataks has already been launched by DDC Reasi Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary under SVEEP for ensuring cent per cent voter coverage.
ACR Tilak Raj Shastri, GM DIC Krishan Lal, Tehsildars R K Anand, Rajeev Mangotra, CDPO Pritam Lal, DIO Parvinder Kour, DYSO Dr S S Chib, DySP Mohammad Shafi, Principals of GHSS Boys & Girls and representatives from health and municipality were present in the meeting. The proceedings of the interactive session were carried by NT, Reasi, Rajesh Baru.
