International Day against Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficking observed

JAMMU, June 25: International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking was observed with zeal.
A mass awareness rally to mark International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking was organised in Jammu City by Drugs and Food Control Organization, Jammu, in which people from different sections of the society including students participated. The rally, which started from Parade Ground was flagged-off by Principal GMC Dr Zahid Geelani in presence of Mohammad Iqbal Pala, Farida Parveen, Munish Gupta and other officers of the DFCO, J&K. President, JCDA, Rajinder Pargal, Rajan Gupta, General Secretary,, Rohit Sharma, Regional President, All India Chemist and Druggists Association, Prem Kumar Sharma, President, JKCDA and many others also took part in the rally. After passing through various area, the rally culminated at Parade, where certificates were distributed among the participants.
An awareness programme to mark “International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking” was organized by Drug and Food Control Organization in the campus of M/s Ind-Swift Limited, Samba Unit wherein experts from the field addressed the gathering of workers. Dr Arun Sharma, Incharge Accidental Hospital Ghagwal, Dr Rajeev Sharma, Chief Medical Officer Samba, Dr Manu Arora Neuro Psychiatrist GMC Jammu, Arvind Mahajan, Vice President M/s Ind-Swift Limited, Munish Gupta, Asstt Drug Controller Kathua and Samba, Mohammad Iqbal Palla, Asstt Drug Controller Jammu, Farida Parveen, Asstt Drug Controller, Pankaj Malhotra, Drug Inspector Samba and representation from Ind-Swift Limited including Ravinder Balsotra, Production Head, Harish Sharma, QA Head, HR Team, besides many others were present on the occasion.
International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking was observed at CHC Akhnoor, wherein para-medical students and staff of CHC Akhnoor including Dr Rakesh Verma, Consultant Physician, Kamal Lal, CHO and Dr Vinod Kumar, Block Medical Officer, Akhnoor, were present. The whole programme was conducted under the supervision of Dr Vinod Kumar, Block Medical Officer (BMO), Akhnoor.
