International exhibition of cartoons concludes at Kala Kendra

JAMMU, Feb 28: The first International Exhibition of cartoons concluded here today at Kala Kendra Jammu with the floral tributes to the cartooning legend R.K. Laxman in whose memory this exhibition was held. This exhibition was inaugurated by  Mrs Usha Vohra the first lady of the State of Jammu & Kashmir. Organised by Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India in collaboration with J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages this International Exhibition was commended as a befitting tribute to the legendary cartoonist R.K. Laxman. Curated by prominent cartoonist, Chander Shekhar, 85 creations of 45 top cartoonists were displayed in this exhibition which witnessed huge rush of art and cartoon lovers.
Speaking on the concluding function, Regional Director of ICCR, Balwant Thakur said that credit goes to the entire fraternity of cartoonists, particularly the cartoonists of Jammu & Kashmir who not only inspired ICCR but also contributed immensely to conceptualize and creatively mounted this show.
