International Vyakaran Conference begins at Sanskrit University Jammu

JAMMU, Mar 27: An international Vyakaran conference on the topic “Sabda Shastriya Siddhanta Naanshastraantaraissah Sambandh” by the Vyakaran Department of Central Sanskrit University, Jammu, began here today Shri Ranbir Campus.
Chief guest of the inaugural session of the program was Prof Yatindra Mohan Mishra, Chairperson of Mahatma Gandhi Institute, Moka Mauritius. While addressing the scholars, he opined that without Vyakaran, flow in any discipline is not possible.
“Vyakaran is the essence and soul of any language in solving all problems related to languages. A language can be well defined only with the help of Vyakaran. The Sanskrit Vyakaran is the work of Maharishi Panini, Maharishi Patanjali and Acharya Katyayana and is unanimously accepted by scholars across the world,” he said.
Prof Satish Kumar Kapoor, Head of Sahitya Department, explained the importance of Vyakaran and said that Vyakaran has an important relation with other scriptures.
Special guest of the program, Prof Suryamani Rath, who came from Central Sanskrit University, Sadashiv Campus, Puri, Odisha, said that language itself is the symbol of progress. “Sanskrit is the only sacred language from which other languages have emerged. In linguistics, Sanskrit language has been accepted as a universal language and the foundation of all European languages,” he said.
The program was presided over by Director of the campus, Prof Madan Mohan Jha. He said that Sanskrit language is scientific and mother of other languages. The grammar of Sanskrit language is universal and it is useful not only for Sanskrit language but also for other languages, he added.
In this two-day international conference, scholars and researchers of grammar from India and abroad are participating online and offline. 100 research papers will be presented in 6 sessions on various topics.
The convention was formally inaugurated with chanting of Vedic and Lokik Manglacharan done by Dr Anay Mani Tripathi and Praveen Mani Tripathi. Dr Kailash Chandra Dash, coordinator of the conference, outlined the program. Dr Pramod Kumar Shukla presented formal vote of thanks. Prof Bodhkumar Jha, Dr Umesh Chandra Mishra, Dr Yaduveer Shastri, Dr Ajayanand, Dr Govind Shukla and Dr Arun Bhatt were among the dignitaries who participated in the program from other campuses of the university. Dr Harishankar Pandey conducted the inaugural session.
