JAMMU, Aug 11: Interstate fraudster involved in Rs 19,02,000 lakh online cyber fraud case of allotment of Indian oil petrol pump nabbed by Cyber Police Jammu.
Cyber Police Station Jammu has succeeded in apprehending fraudster involved in 19 lakh rupees online cyber fraud case in which a case FIR Number 17/2021 under Sections 66D IT Act, 420 and 120 B IPC has been registered at Cyber Police Station Jammu.
The accused person has been identified as Parmod Devgan, son of Ravi Devgan of Gurgaon Haryana.
Divulging the details, SP Cyber Police Jammu Naresh Singh informed that on April 13 this year, a complaint was lodged by Nissar Ahmed of Mahore, District Reasi with Cyber Police Station Jammu stating that he was duped by unknown fraudsters on the pretext of allotment of Indian oil petrol pump. The complainant has applied online for allotment of petrol pump and got trapped in the luring offer and consequently lost Rs 19, 02,000 lakh in multiple transactions from different banks, he added.
“During the course of investigation, Investigating Officer succeeded in identifying the fraudster who has defrauded hard earned money of the complainant”, SP said, adding that after ascertaining the location of the accused, a dedicated team headed by Inspector Vikram Sharma, Investigating Officer of the case under the supervision of DySP Cyber Priyanka kumari was deputed to apprehend the accused.
SP informed that the deputed team acting swiftly and arrested the accused from Hisar Haryana, adding that the accused has been brought to Jammu after completing all legal procedures.
Further questioning of the arrested accused is going on to ascertain involvement of other accused into the case, Cyber Police Jammu SP Naresh Singh added.
