Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister M Veerappa Moily today claimed that the introduction of Card to get the LPG subsidy was very popular and people were quite satisfied.
Ruling out that the people were not getting full subsidy to the banks, he said, while replying to questions on the sidelines
of the on going 10th Biennial International Conference and Exhibition, organised by Society of Petroleum Geophysicists here, the people were quite satisfied with the scheme and large number of people were still coming forward to get the Aadhar card.
‘I am quite happy to say that wherever we have launched it is working. It has not become an issue and people are voluntarily coming forward to get he Aadhar card and to get the subsidy and it becoming very peopular. Direct tax benefit scheme at the LPG is becoming quite popular and is attractive to people,’ he claimed.
When pointed out that the people did not get the full subsidy into the bank, Dr Moily said ‘this is in one or two places. I don’t know what has happened. Something has happen locally, I will look into it,’ he said.
‘People are quite happy and could save lot of money also. 14 crore customers are now and I must to tell that three crore more customers are likely to go for the system,’ Dr Moily added.
Aksed about November 30 is the last date for enrolling the LPG subsidy system, he said ‘no the question is that it cannot make Adhar as a mandatory in view of the Supreme Court Order.’ (UNI)
