NEW DELHI, Jan 31: A delegation of the members of Public Administration Association today called on Dr Jitendra Singh, Minister of State in PMO and Incharge Minister of Development North Eastern States, at his residence for seeking introduction of Public Administration subject at 10+2 level in Jammu and Kashmir.
President of the Association, Gagandeep Singh apprised the Union Minister that due to delay in introduction of Public Administration subject at 10 plus 2 levels, many scholars and students get over aged. “In 2014, Secretary School Education Department, vide his letter No:-Edu/Plan-SE/909/2013/2014 to Directorate of School Education Jammu and Kashmir, had sought response from all Chief Education Officers/ DIET Principals/ SIE regarding introduction of Public Administration subject at +2 level and creation of posts. Even as all CEOs/DIET Principals/ SIE responded positively as majority of students in Higher Secondary Institutions of Jammu and Kashmir are continuously approaching for opting subject of Public Administration at +2 level and a complete proposal along with justification for creation of posts was also forwarded by the Directors to the Commissioner Secretary vide letter No.Estt-1/creation/DSEK/18 dated 20/01/2015. and F (Acad))Admn XII-15 dated 08-06-2015, no further action was taken,” the delegation explained and added that Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education has also already completed all formalities regarding formulation of syllabus of Public Administration for 11th and 12th Classes.
The delegation requested Dr Singh to plead their case for introduction of Public Administration at +2 level and creation of posts in the said discipline so that teachings of Public Administration can be made available in the State.
After listening to the delegation, Dr Jitendra Singh said that Public Administration is one of the important subjects and introduction of the same should not be delayed further. He also gave assurance to the students/scholars that the memorandum would be forwarded to the Secretary Education Department on next Monday to process the case at the earliest so that the subject can be introduced from the forthcoming academic session.
