JAMMU, Feb 7: Army today foiled an infiltration attempt by the militants along the Line of Control (LoC) at forward area of Balnoi in Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district forcing the militants to retreat.
Official reports said the troops observed movement of a group of militants trying to infiltrate into the Indian territory from a forward post of Balnoi in Krishna Ghati sector around 12.30 am today.
The militants were trying to take advantage of heavy rains and poor visibility in the area to Infiltrate. However, alert Army jawans spotted them and opened firing after which the militants retreated to Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Troops conducted searches in the area this morning but there were no traces of militants, the reports said.
