JAMMU, Sept 20: Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) today condemned the recent anti-worker statement of State PHE Minister, Sukhnandan Chowdhary in which he had said that the workers, who were engaged against the schemes will have to go after the scheme is over.
Addressing a meeting of workers held here today, Shiv Kumar Sharma, State president, INTUC, said that in order to ensure smooth water supply to the people and run and maintain tubewells and laid pipes under schemes, such workers are perpetually needed. “Even a thought of expelling such workers would render these public schemes useless and huge amount of funds spent on these schemes will go waste”, he added.
INTUC president appealed the Government to formulate a proper policy in order to absorb all daily wagers for which they are very eagerly waiting.
