UDHAMPUR, Dec 20: PHE Employees Association held an emergent meeting of its executive body for districts Udhampur and Reasi today under the chairmanship of Som Nath, vice president of association for Jammu province.
While addressing Som Nath said that one day convention of Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) will be held at Udhampur on December 29 in which Minister for PHE Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Sharma will be the chief guest while State INTUC chief Shiv Kumar Sharma and its general secretary Thakur Raghubir Singh will also grace the occasion.
Today’s meeting discussed at length the long pending genuine demands and problems of the PHE workers and employees which pertained to immediate release of wages which are pending for the past over 18 months; Engagement of work as per quantum of work load; Holding of DPC meeting, which has not been convened for the past 18 years; Change in designation of workers as per nature of job being performed by them; Benefit of SRO 64; Release of DA as also DA to daily wagers etc.
Mr Som Raj Jandial was appointed as City president of the association.
Som Nath appealed all the employees to participate in full strength in the convention scheduled on December 29.
Others who spoke in the meeting included Jammu province working president of the association Vinod Kumar Sharma, INTUC vice president Sham Lal Sharma, Vijay Kumar, Rattan Singh, Suraj Parkash, Jagdish Magotra, Krishan Chand, Subash Chander, Kuldeep Kumar, Shiv Lal Sharma, Baldev Raj, Munshi Ram, Chuni Lal, Makhan Chand, Mohinder Singh, Rajinder Kumar, Ved Parkash, Raj Kumar etc.
