Lays foundation stone of hostel for police personnel’s wards

SRINAGAR, Dec 22: Director General of Police (DGP) J&K Dilbag Singh today told Investigation Officers (IOs) of the Force that the investigation of UAPA has to be foolproof, taking into account every minutest evidence.
The DGP was addressing IOs during inaugural function of the 6th Phase of Joint Capacity Building Programme of Jammu and Kashmir Police with National Investigation Agency (NIA) started at Police Headquarters in Srinagar. He was the chief guest of the programme.
ADGP Armed/IRP, J&K SJM GIllani, ADGP (Headquarters) PHQ MK Sinha, ADGP Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar, IGP NIA Vijay Sakaria, DIG CKR Sujit Kumar, AIG T&P JS Johar, AIG Communication (PHQ), Manoj Kumar Pandit and other officers of Police and visiting team of NIA were present on the occasion.
Dilbag Singh said that for effective war on terror besides the anti-terror operations, the wider network of terror support system has to be targeted. He said that effective investigation is no less than a weapon in the hands of investigators to demolish the terror ecosystem.
He said that officers of J&K Police have investigated UAPA cases effectively but the magnitude is such that new units like SIA, SIU have been created to target the wider number of UAPA cases and a special training course for them is aimed to further sharpen their investigation skills.
The DGP said that what to do, what not to do and how to do are three main and important factors to investigate crimes of special nature. He said that for result oriented investigation, the investigator has to ensure the result of ten out of ten.
He said that the training programme which is 6th in the series shows the kind of relation J&K Police share with the NIA. He said the NIA is one of the most distinguished investigating agency so far as the investigation of terror crime and UAPA is concerned and added that it is an honour to have its faculty members training J&K Police investigators.
Meanwhile, the DGP laid foundation stone of a hostel for wards of Police personnel at PCR Complex Srinagar and inaugurated NGO’s Mess of IRP 20th Battalion at Parihaspora, Pattan. He also addressed a darbar of officers and jawans of 04 IRP battalions stationed at Parihaspora Complex. On his arrival, the DGP was given Command Guard of Honour.
Addressing the darbar of officers and Jawans, the DGP congratulated all ranks for their role in maintaining peace across J&K. “I felt great satisfaction during the recent Public interaction meetings wherein people are acknowledging the efforts & good work of J&K Police”, the DGP said adding that the people’s opinion about JK Police and of forces have changed for good now as compared to what it used to be few years back.
He said that people of J&K are having a sigh of relief from terror and are not hindering in telling the truth openly, adding that it is a moment of pleasure and satisfaction for all of us that the dividends of our hardwork are visible.
