Investigators’ trg prog on ‘safety of women’ concludes at SKPA

UDHAMPUR, Dec 2: A five-day training programme for the investigators on “safety of women” concluded at Sher-e-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA) here today.
Sponsored by the BPR&D New Delhi, the training programme that began on November 28, 2023, was attended by 21 police officers of ranks ASI, SI, and Inspector. Among the trainees were two women officers as well.
A statement said that the course was designed to acquaint the investigators with the investigation skills and knowledge of latest provisions of law including POCSO, JJ Act, IT Act etc.
Prominent guest speakers, including Dr Kavita Suri, Director, Department of Lifelong Learning, University of Jammu; Rajeshwar Basotra, CPO, DPO, Udhampur; Meena Kumari, Central Administrator, OSC Udhampur; Inspector Vikas Dogra from Cyber Police Station Jammu, among others, shared their expertise on different topics related to women safety.
Chief Guest, Rajinder Kumar Gupta, SSP, Deputy Director (Indoor/Trainings) SKPA, in his valedictory address, advised the participants to be sensitive towards women victims and asked them to adopt guidelines laid down on the subject.
He disclosed that the main objective of the course was to enhance the capacity of the investigating officers especially in women related cases.
The course was coordinated by Tilak Raj, Inspector, assisted by ASI Sohan Lal.
