IOC conducts ‘Emergency Response Drill’

JAMMU, Nov 30: An Emergency Response Drill was conducted today by Indian Oil  Corporation Limited (IOC) at their LPG Bottling Plant situated at Bari Brahmana.
In the exercise, different Government agencies and neighbouring industries participated.
Samresh Kumar, Plant Manager, IOC was the Fire-in-Chief and Site Controller, who supervised the entire drill.
Kumar said that such  exercises are conducted by them on regular basis to assess the emergency preparedness of their employees and the facilities and also the response time of the neighbouring industries and Government  Departments.
It all started when the emergency siren began to ring declaring the emergency within the LPG Plant and the drill was conducted in the plant premises.
All the three teams of the Plant i.e. Fire Combat Team, Auxillary Team and the Rescue Team led by their team incharges reached the incident site and took part actively in the emergency response drill.
