JAMMU, Oct 28: The irate people in Bari Brahmana held a demonstration and blocked Jammu-Pathankote National Highway in protest against the alleged murder of a youth by the relatives of a girl with whom he was in love.
Hundreds of irate people came to streets and protested against the alleged murder of Anil Kumar, 22, S/o Gopal Dass of village Dolian Bari Brahmana whose dead body was found Railway Station Bari Brahmana late last night.
The protestors said the youth was not crushed to death by the train but was murdered by the relatives of a girl with whom he had an affair.
They demanded the matter be investigated thoroughly by Crime Branch or Police and the guilty be punished under law.
The protestors blocked the highway for one hour. Later, SDM Vijaypur, Sonu Pargal reached the spot and assured the protestors that proper investigation will be conducted in the matter. On his assurance the protestors dispersed and the traffic was restored on National Highway.
However police said that Anil was crushed by Samparak Kranti at Bari Brahmana Railway Station at 9-40 pm.
