KATHUA, Aug 24: The irate residents of Mahanpur in Basohli area today blocked the Basohli Kathua road at Mahanppur in protest against the delaying tactics adopted by the Ranjit Sagar Dam authorities to provide job to the people whose land has been taken by the project.
The protestors blocked the road for one hour and demanded that the people whose land was acquired for the construction of the project be provided the government job as promised.
They said the people whose land has been taken by the project are running from pillar to post for justice but the authorities are totally unmoved. They also criticized the Punjab Government and alleged that it befooled the people of the area. The protestors also alleged that the State administration has also failed to plead their case in right perspective and the stoic silence maintained by the State Government in this regard is a cause of concern for them.
